Phoenix Design Aid (PDAid) is an international design and communication company with expertise in total graphic solutions ranging from concept development and design to web publishing, production and printing of graphic products. The company's CSR work involves the company itself as well as its suppliers and customers.
PDAid's head office is located in Denmark, and the company has eight employees. The company also has sales offices in Geneva, Mumbai and New York as well as representatives in Dublin. The company has a strong focus on quality, business ethics, environment and health and safety. The company integrates these areas through a certified management system based on the international standards ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and OHSAS 18001. In 2011, PDAid was the first graphic company to be certified to DS 49001 (corporate social responsibility), based on the international ISO 26000 standard. In terms of day-to-day work, this means that PDAid's working methods and conditions comply with the UN Global Compact's ten principles for corporate social responsibility, and that the company complies with all laws, regulations and international standards in the countries in which it operates.
As the first Danish SME, PDAid qualified for the Advanced Level of the UN Global
Compact in 2013, thus reinforcing the company’s social commitment. Extending
its efforts to include the criteria listed at the Advanced Level represents an attempt
to raise the bar and set a higher standard for sound business practice.

In addition to having high standards for its own conduct, PDAid also expects its suppliers and business partners to demonstrate commitment and results in the areas of environment, health and safety and climate. PDAid also expects these players to support and comply with the PDAid Code of Conduct, resulting in good working conditions in all parts of the value chain. PDAid also stipulates that the business practices of its customers should comply with the principles of Global Compact. In that way, PDAid prevents the company's products and services from being used in connection with messages or purposes that conflict with the company's principles.
PDAid makes concerted efforts to reduce the environmental impact both internally and among business partners. By neutralising a large part of the company's CO2 emissions, PDAid has achieved CO2 Focus certification. The company also works to increase awareness of CO2 neutrality among its business partners. In 2011, the majority of PDAid's business partners in the printing industry were CO2 neutral, and the company's goal is for all its printing partners to become CO2 neutral in the near future.
